In the mid-1930s, Baron Walter Langer and Evelyn Diane Westell revolutionized the perfume industry by introducing the Evyan line of fragrances in New York. They wanted to produce a scent for the American women - a truly American fragrance with no connections to the perfume monopoly in France. Every note of their perfume was hand-selected from ingredients available and produced in America, as were all materials used to package it.
